Dryer doesn’t get hot enough.

• This could be a number of things. It’s important to determine whether the dryer is not getting hot enough or not at all. If it’s not getting hot enough, see what you can do before you call a technician in the next section.

The dryer is making a squealing noise as it spins.

• Laundry Center dryers spin on bearings unlike most normal dryers that spin on rollers. When the bearing starts to wear out it will make a squealing noise as the metal grinds away. If the bearing grinds all the way off, the drum will fall into the heating element, causing more damage and a fire hazard. The washer is taking forever to complete the cycle.

• A common problem with post-2011 Frigidaire Laundry Centers is that the washer thinks that it still has water in it when it doesn’t. This is an easy fix, but one that needs to be done by a professional technician.

A common complaint is that the dryer takes multiple cycles to dry your clothes. Before you call a technician, make sure you clean out the dryer vent all the way to the outside of your home. Sometimes exterior vents have a filter on them that can get caked up with lint. Also chipmunks and birds like to build nests in the warm dryer vent. Having a clog in the vent is like having a snowball in your vehicle’s exhaust pipe. The heat and moisture can’t escape! If you have a clog for too long, the heat building up inside of your dryer can blow an internal fuse.

It is recommended that you clean your dryer vent twice a year. Dryers located in basements are especially prone to clogs. The internal blowers are not meant to blow through vents that run up walls and across the ceiling.
